Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and clean provide the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet mess in one go, without having to switch between devices. They also can save space compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.
A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models with docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, refill their water tanks, and wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's among the easiest robots to install that we've tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you running with a clean and complete dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in no time.
The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can mops up a storm and vacuums well too. Its mops spin at high speeds and apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, allowing for quick removal of pet hair, dirt, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a selection of brushes and attachments, and a user-friendly application that lets you choose the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.
You could, for instance request the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It is able to recognize small obstacles that other models are unable to. The only issue it has is that it can hit objects and walls at a high speed, but a quick glance at the history of cleaning within the app will show you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading, and which obstacles it's run into or avoided.
A convenient LCD screen on the docking station tells you when maintenance jobs must be completed, such as emptying the debris tray, and rinsing its dirty water tank. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank, by using a 600ml bottle filled with Eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop are able to run for a long time and the mop is capable of running for up to 184 minutes in quiet mode, while the vacuum is capable of running for 136 minutes in normal mode, before needing to recharge or return to the base to refill. You can view the complete cleaning details within the app, which is clearly laid out and is easy to comprehend, though we would have liked to be able distinguish between a vacuum and a vacuum/mop clean when looking at a cleaned area in the cleaning history.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's most popular robot mop and vacuum, is the most recent version. The model of this year features an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. This improves the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to remove small hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners may miss.
Like the two other Roborock models I've tested the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that help it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by adding a dual camera which can recognize objects and determine whether they're a wall or another type of surface. It then can automatically alter its path and clean the objects without a pause.
It's the most expensive of the three models I've examined, but it's also packed with features. Its sleek angular design is striking and only has three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which restarts the cleaning process, a mop button that doubles as a child-lock, and a home-button to take the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be opened to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml water tank. The water tank self-empties and the bin is auto-filling.
The only downside I've discovered with this model is that the VibraRise mop pad mount isn't removable. It is possible to change the mopping cloth if required, but it's a challenge to remove the mount to wash it manually. I've found any plush carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mounts, which could cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can configure and manage these via the Roborock app, which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings, monitor battery life and component maintenance. You'll need to jump through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering how well-performing it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop equipped with incredible suction power, sophisticated mowing capabilities, and a variety of innovative features. Its innovative design lets you to customize and efficiently clean while saving time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to feature 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum cleans up dry mess, including pet hair and food particles. It comes with a mop that is top quality that cleans hard floors without the use of a pad. The X40 is also extremely quiet while in use with only occasional bursts during modes changes or self-maintenance.
Another noteworthy feature is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush which lets it get into hard-to-reach corners and intimately clean furniture such as table and chairs' legs. It also allows the robot to get under furniture that is low-profile which makes it a great choice for small apartments and condos with tight spaces. The side brush tilts automatically down when it spots wet spots. This is a nice feature that allows the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors through repeated back-and-forth movements.
In contrast to other robots that only focus on one thing, the X40 can perform both vacuuming and mopping simultaneously or in a series. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors and skip carpeted areas, or vice versa. It can be controlled using the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.
The app is intuitive and easy to use, and the X40's smart features are a breeze to set up. Users can program the X40 for cleaning at specific times. They can also adjust suction power, alter modes, view floor plans and maps and manage mopping setting. robot vacuum hoover will also monitor its progress and notify you when it is finished.
The X40 is easy to maintain and has many features that make it an excellent choice for busy families. The docking station can automatically empty the dustbin and wash the mop pads, then refill them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It can also tell when the mop pad is overflowing and alert you before it overflows, thus reducing the necessity for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's among the most expensive models available, but it packs in many additional features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature of its mop heads, makes use of two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can clean pet hair and other small dirt particles - and also pick up spills and wet spots.
The mop is cleaned and dried in the base station every time they are used. This is a great feature because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature has yet to be seen on other robot vacuum and mop models and could be a useful method to keep your home hygienic for longer.
There's an impressive amount of settings on offer that include the ability to schedule cleaning and adjust a number of different preferences. These can be set via the app or buttons that can be found on the unit itself. The app is simple to use and has a lot of options for customizing the cleaning routine. Additionally, there are numerous functions that other robots don't have - such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically boosts suction power when it detects dust particles, instead of relying on a manual setting.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a white-and-metallic finish that looks elegant and elegant. It's heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots on this list - at around 4kg however it's not overly heavy either, and it is sturdy and well-built. Mopping is also well-designed and the double-rotating mop works well on hard floors and in corners. They can even extend to 2mm baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice touch.
